Thermal Imaging

Thermal imaging has been around for over a century. The first thermal patent for healthcare use was applied for in 1924, by Dossa Evans. Later that year, B.J. Palmer started utilizing thermal technology to measure his patient's response to chiropractic care. Johns Hopkins University, in 1988, published research in which a group of neurosurgeons used thermal scanning technology to determine temperature asymmetry protocols and their relationship to sympathetic dysfunction. In the abstract from the article, it states,
“Thermal values can be used as a standard in assessment of sympathetic nerve function, and the degree of asymmetry is a quantifiable indicator of dysfunction.”
Here at the RESULTS System™, we recommend the Platinum System™ thermal imaging software (examples shown at right) in conjunction with the Tytron thermal instrument. This is a unit which utilizes a paraspinal direct temperature (DT) infrared heat reading from the skin near the spine, as well as calculates a change in thermal emissions contralaterally. This technology measures thermal emissions given off from the skin and assimilates them into a pattern which is then plotted in graph form.
"Dermal hypothermic zones are delineated by deviations of the graph to the left, while hyperthermic areas are noted as deviations to the right. DT (Direct Temperature) imaging and analysis is critical to the proper diagnostic interpretation of neuropathophysiology." "Analyses of the DTs are extremely critical to the determination of whether adjustive care is warranted." -

Subluxation can be the root cause of many health problems. The problem is that patients don't know that. By educating your patient they will understand the benefits of the chiropractic care being provided. The Tytron software also enables you to print off reports for patients to take with them.
The Tytron accurately scans the full spine or upper cervical area in approximately 15 seconds. Scanning a patient is so easy to complete that many doctors will scan the patient both pre-adjustment and post-adjustment. Each scan is automatically added to the patients file allowing you to maintain a complete history of all office visits.
Not only does the Tytron prove to be an indispensable clinical tool, it's versatility expands into a great patient education tool. The visual imaging aspect of the Tytron enhances and increases opportunity for patients to engage and participate in their health care. The Tytron is also extremely portable making it an ideal companion whether out at health fairs, house calls, screenings, or other community events. The Tytron not only helps you draw interest at these events, it helps you turn them into loyal patients.
The human body and all of its organs are controlled by the nervous system. These nerves run from the

brain, down the spinal column, and innervate various organs throughout the body including the heart, the lungs, and even the skin.
Each of the nerves leaving the spinal column innervates specific areas of the skin, thus dividing the body into a patterned form known as dermatomes. There are eight cervical, twelve thoracic, five lumbar, and five sacral dermatomes.
The nervous system uses vasoconstriction and vasodilatation of the capillary bed to help regulate body temperature. Irritations cause the skin's natural temperature symmetry to fall out of balance from the left to right side of the spine.
We also approve the DT-25 for measuring thermal emmissions:
